I'd like to use this as an experiment to use the unique talents of each of the participants to come up with a "group" product that we conceptualize and complete within 30 days of the workshop. We are all experts at something and it would be extremely interesting to see what kind of product would evolve from the group. Depending on who attends will determine what the product is...as well as how it' put together.
It doesn't need to be a partnership for "profit" either. It could be a product that we put together as a group to raise funds for a mutually agreed upon charity. (That's just an example). But I say this because not everybody is always suited to be "business partners". This would be a great exercise. Also....it would be a tall order.
However, for those folks who feel that they have nothing to contribute, they would find that they do INDEED have a talent they can lend. That would be an AWESOME workshop.
I still have to see about clearing my schedule but am hoping to attend. (If I can make it, I would not be staying over... just so you know that part).
I'd love discuss and develop a step by step plan for marketing on Facebook and other social sites... LinkedIn... video... online Press Releases, article marketing, etc.
I just discovered a company called FanPageEngine.com that has wonderful templates for Facebook and I've gathered some new info about how to market on both Facebook and LinkedIn that I could share for discussion... but haven't put into use yet.
Hope to be adding my RSVP very soon and in fact, hope to encourage a few others to also attend.
Here's a topic I keep hearing about... and the "value" of it... but would like to hear ideas on how to go about actually excecuting...
And the topic is (drum roll).... "link building"... seems the obvious are posting on blogs and video sites, and doing article marketing... but I'm sure there are others that might be even more productive...
Wordtracker is having a webinar Tuesday night (free to subscribers)... but I bet we could address the same things at our meet up... After all, I am sure Mark would have lots of input... or perhaps one of the attendees!
• The ways link building benefits your business
• Why would another website link to yours
• Ways to find high quality link prospects
• What makes a quality link?
• How to get links without asking
• Why most link building efforts go wrong (or so I've heard) :)
• How to plan a blog campaign that works
I think we need to see what everyone is trying to do? is your customer a Business to Business or Business to Consumer. What are people trying to do and what success have they had, What have they done to get that to happen good or bad.
Then work a plan that can give everyone some value? How to run a test google campaign with split testing What to expect to spend on your learning curve? different landing pages for different ads and why they are important. What would we give away to build a list and the value of a list. What tools are best to manage lists. What about cross selling in products you believe in and what kind of revenue can you realize from it.
With Business to Business are you looking for leads and.or orders? Can you sell your product from the web or do you need it as a door opener for a face to face? what is the lifetime value of a customer. In my business this can be a very large number each time i land a new customer. What about other people and how can they increase the value of their long term customers.
One thing i learned is to have very focused landing pages and eliminate clutter. If you have multiple products then when do i maintain a different page for each product so i can present myself as the obvious expert.
I drove a fairly large volume of traffic just playing around and just dumped them on a test page. I was not selling anything just testing but realized if i cobranded, rebranded or had licensing rights to products i could run campaigns on each one. I also realized there are people out there in busineses that are just running campaigns and making huge dollars selling focused leads for certain industries and hungry businesses.
